CarbonFree Technology Inc. is acquiring a portfolio of Chilean solar projects that are at the construction stage. The Toronto-based firm has also inked an agreement to buy an additional 15 ground-mounted solar projects in the country which have an aggregate capacity of 65 MW.

IHS Markit has revised its 2017 guidance for solar PV installation upwards by 14% compared to 2016 levels. The research firm now predicts a global PV deployment of 90 MW this year, primarily as a result of a new trend in the Chinese market. 

A new report from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) says that India could meet a third of its energy demand by 2030 by increasing the amount of renewable energy on its grid while also saving the economy a lot of money. 

Solar Brokers Canada and Lowe’s Canada are making it easier for homeowners to go with solar energy. The two companies have created Lowe’s Solar to provide solar energy installation services to homeowners throughout Ontario.

Alterra Power Corp. and Inovateus Solar LLC have secured a US$19.9 million construction loan for the 11 MW Spartan Solar project. It’s located on the East Lansing campus at the University of Michigan.
