CO2 Solutions Inc. is working with Seneca Experts Conseils Inc. to assess the viability of using its carbon capture technology in a 32-tonne per day project in the mining and metals industry. The identity of the potential client hasn’t been disclosed. 

The Canadian Gas Association’s (CGA) Natural Gas Innovation Fund (NGIF) has put out a call for submissions for funding. The goal of the fund is to support research, demonstration and deployment of projects across the country. 

Research on the measurement of methane emissions at Dalhousie University has received an injection of money from the federal government. The project is getting $482,000. 

Carbon capture technology company Inventys has landed an equity investment from Husky Energy. This financing is part of a $10 million Round B financing with investments from The Roda Group and Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital. The money will be used to fund a 30 tonne per day pilot plant providing Husky with a low cost source of CO2 for an enhanced oil recovery (EOR) program near Lloydminster SK. 

Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) is looking for innovations to help reduce greenhouse as emissions in the oil sands sector and increase the cost competitiveness of bitumen production. The provincial government agency is making $50 million available.
