The governments of Quebec and California will hold their next cap and trade permit auction in two exactly two months from today, they announced this week.

The Ministère du Développement durable, de l'Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques (MDDELCC), and the California Air Ressources Board (ARB), announced today that a seventh joint carbon market auction will be held on May 18, 2016.

The publication of the Auction Notice, which includes the number of emissions units for sale, minimum prices, and application requirements, marks the beginning of the application period. The application period closes on April 18, 2016.

The Auction Notice is available on the MDDELCC's website at http://www.mddelcc.gouv.qc.ca/changements/carbone/index-en.htm.
