Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (APUC) has inked a power purchase agreement with Manitoba Hydro. The deal is for 25 years and covers energy generated by Algonquin Power’s 16.5 MW St. Léon wind energy project expansion.

As a result of using 100% Ontario refined silicon, solar modules from Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd. can now be used under Ontario’s Feed-in-Tariff Program and meet domestic content rules, the company announced this week. It says its 225Wp and 275Wp can now be used in the province.

Wind Works Power Corp. has landed $15 million in financing to develop eight Ontario wind projects with a total capacity of 85MW. The deal follows an unsuccessful attempt to sell five of the projects to Premier Renewable Energy Inc.
