EnviroTech Ltd., Smartcool Systems Inc.’s distributor in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has installed the ESM, a chiller energy savings system, at the Radisson, Ramada and Vision Hotels in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Rania Abo Baker, GM at EnviroTech, noted that the Smartcool technology has now been accepted by a number of organizations in the country and that a rental model as well as outright purchases is being well received. He added this should help shorten the sales cycle and accelerate growth and revenue.

“We are finding that the high electricity bills experienced by customers has focused their attention on energy savings and we have seen a considerable uptake in the implementation of Smartcool during the summer months where temperatures have already reached 50 C degrees in some places,” said Baker.

Vancouver-based Smartcool is also opening up new markets in the Middle East with with expansion into Riyadh and Jeddah regions starting in third quarter with Kuwait Oil Company being the first installation.
