Municipalities on the front lines of emission reduction and they have help

Ontario is expected to unveil details this month of its plan to adopt a cap and trade system and link it with similar schemes in Quebec and California. A new report from the Ecofiscal Commission is now arguing that the most practical approach to carbon pricing is for the Canadian provinces to take the lead. Municipalities can also do their part to reduce emissions through a program run by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
