Carbon pricing is gaining momentum in Canada. Ontario is going to implement a cap and trade scheme and link it with Quebec and California’s trading system. And more recently, the heads of some of Canada’s biggest oil and gas companies have called for a carbon tax. Both policy instruments have benefits, but what do political scientists think? Three of them were at the University of Ottawa on June 4 to talk about their preferred choice.
