CanWEA offers solution to greater wind penetration in Alberta

The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) says that Alberta could have a much higher penetration of wind energy on the provincial grid, providing significant economic impacts, if long-term power purchase contracts were available. But since that is unlikely to change, the association has come up a with solution that wouldn’t cause too much pain to the provincial unregulated electricity market.
